What are the differences between benzyol peroxide and sulfur pimple treatments?

Both benzoyl peroxide and sulfur are effective over-the-counter acne treatments, but they work in different ways and may be better suited for different skin types and acne severity.

Benzoyl peroxide: Effective for mild to moderate inflammatory acne, like papules and pustules. Can be harsh and cause dryness, redness, or irritation. May stain clothing.


Sulphur: Effective for milder inflammatory acne, fungal acne, and comedones. Gentler making it a good choice for sensitive or adult skin. Will not stain clothing.
